The state of living in India has improved, many NRIs return, mostly from US, and settle down in India. They get a high-paying job in some leading IT company and happily spend their time with the usual yearly vacation at resorts which can't be afforded by the rupee-earning Indian. But, these prodigals (is it porukkis in tamil?), instead of keeping their mouth shut and lead life, unnecessarily come out and say that India is the best and its better than the west in lots of ways and so I have decided to be here forever.

I was just wondering how and when did India become a better place to live than the US. Though I haven't been to the US, I have heard a lot from many friends and relatives who live there and I am fairly sure that living is much better there than in India - more than the living, the amount of money you make is bountiful. When you come back to India, you pack your bags with dollars and have a bank account with 7-digit (or 8-digit) balances and when you have so much money, obviously your motherland is the best place to live.

I am not against people going to the US for money - even my brother lives there. Even I would go there, if my job asks me to. These people who return have made their monies for the next 2/3 generations in that long stint at US and now show off as if India is best blah blah. Would they have said it if they didn't have all those dollars? Would they have said no to an abroad offer if they were just starting their careers? Wouldn't they be queueing up outside the American embassy for visas, not just for himself, but for the entire family.

Our country's true hypocrites - even worse than some of the politicians.

Added to these so-called Indians, even US nationals want to retire in India.
